Places to Visit

Simply a list of places I want to visit. Hopefully I can check a number of these off the list.

Easter Jeep Safari in MoabMoab, Utah
Arguably the top off-roading destination on earth, there are more than 30 trails in the Moab area, most within a very short distance from town. Home to the Annual Easter Jeep Safari, off-roaders travel from all over the country to tackle the slickrock that the Moab area is famous for.

Ed's Jeep Wrangler in perspective White Rim Road
While generally considered part of the Moab area, the White Rim Road is worthy of its own entry. Looping around and below the top of Island in the Sky Mesa in Canyonlands National Park, The white rim Road is 100 mile trip that commonly takes 2-3 days vai four wheel drive. Spectacular scenery surrounds you as you navigate the trail. Backcountry camping permits keep the numbers low so you can enjoy your solitude.

Toroweap Evening GlowGrand Canyon North Rim
The Grand Canyon is undoubtadly one of the most famous natural features in the world. Millions of visitors flock to the Grand Canyon each year from around the world. However, most visit the south rim. The more remote North rim is significantly quieter. Specifically, the Toroweap Overlook, only accesible via at least 62 miles of dirt road through unihabited lands. Once again, Required Backcountry permits keep the numbers low and the seclusion high.

Noonday Trail, Cottage Grove
The Noonday Trail is the original wagon road into the Bohemia Mining District, in the Cascade Foothills east of Cottage Grove. The area still has active gold mining so it's wise to avoid open shafts. At the top, you can also visit the Fairview Mountain Lookout, a former fire lookout retrofitted for recreational use.
